OUR PROGRAM

The Caring Place of Magnolia is a fee based adult respite start-up program designed to provide social interaction and stimulating exercise opportunities for participants with early memory loss and dementia. Our Caring Place is also partnering with the Area Agency on Aging to provide monthly support programs for caregivers. It is anticipated the program will serve up to 10 persons experiencing some type of dementia and up to 35 participants over a 12 month period.

Initially the program will be offered on Thursdays for four hours with the potential to expand. The daily schedule will include activities that connect and engage. The games will consist of bingo, checkers or a simple puzzle. The exercise routine can be that of a bean bag toss or hoola hoop. The music segment will vary from familiar hymns to dance tunes. Other activities will be crafts, special entertainment, and the celebration of Special Days.
