First United Methodist Church Child Development Center is a learning center which strives to foster optimum growth and development in children between the ages of 8 weeks to 5 years.

We endeavor to provide our young learners with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that meets the social, intellectual, emotional, and physical needs of each individual child. We aim to provide high quality comprehensive childcare in a Christian atmosphere, where the individual child’s abilities and gifts are nurtured and developed.

At FUMC CDC, we strive for excellence in all we do. We desire each of our graduates to enter kindergarten with an awareness of self-worth and the tools to achieve their full potential.

Our goal is the development of the whole child in a positive, relaxed atmosphere. Teachers plan activities which encourage the growth of the child in all areas.

We endeavor to provide high quality comprehensive childcare in a Christian atmosphere, where the individual child’s abilities are nurtured and developed.

Throughout the year, field trips, classroom visits by professionals in various fields, and other special events enhance the total program.

We also offer after school care and van pick up for children up to sixth grade. We offer a full day program, with many fun and educational activities.

Our pre-school program serves ages 3-5 years old. By using the Adventures in Learning Curriculum and Pre-K Ella, we put a strong emphasis on language and literacy. The Adventures in Learning curriculum includes activities that are based on the Arkansas Early Childhood Framework Benchmarks. These benchmarks link directly to the Kindergarten Readiness Indicators from the Arkansas Department of Education.

A history of consistency and loyalty among our staff is at the heart of our programs. Staff qualifications include a nurturing, caring nature, with a true concern for young children and their families. In-service training by early childhood professionals provide the staff with the latest techniques in developmentally appropriate child care training. Many of our teachers have earned their CDA (Child Development Associate), are first aid/CPR certified and Pre-K Ella trained.

FUMC CDC is Better Beginnings Accredited. The Better Beginnings Accredidation has a star system to rate those centers that go above and beyond minimum licensing. Centers can receive one to three stars depending on the level of their overall program. FUMC CCD is proud to announce we are a 3-star program! We are the only private center in Magnolia that has received this rating.
